EV tariffs require a smart meter. Book your installation when you switch supplier
All savings are estimates based on the information that you have provided. We assume certain patterns in car use and home charging, along with your home electricity demand. We then calculate how your current tariff compares to all the time-of-use tariffs available on the market. Our modelling approach has been verified by independent bodies, including the Energy Saving Trust. For further information please contact us at info@lovemyev.com
Whilst all EV tariffs are marketed as "100% green", we think it is important to look at a supplier's overall energy mix. This tells us more about their support for renewable electricity generation. Our Carbon (CO2) savings are based on emissions reductions from switching electricity (and gas if you have it) from your current supplier (or the national average if you haven't told us) to the new supplier.
For dynamic tariffs like Octopus' Agile tariff, we use the historical data to create a typical weekly profile of prices and then scale it to the expect average price for the next 6 months. This provides an indication of the likely benefits of engaging with a dynamic tariff, but clearly estimated savings have large bounds of uncertainty.
Solar savings are based on 2.5% annual inflation on costs, but zero annual inflation on electricity prices. The UK Government's Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) will keep prices below the market value for the next 18 months, thereafter the whole sale price of electricity is expect to drop. However, average retail prices are unlikely to change after the EPG period and will most likely stay constant for many years to come.
